i sealed the leak that was on the bottom of the skimmer with silicon and let it sit for 24 hours. i also took it upon myself to seal the maxijet 1200 i have on it (i dont plan on selling this pump) because at one point, it was spewing microbubbles around the intake. so, i tested the MJ on its own, no microbubbles. but when i hook it up to the seaclone, microbubbles out of the output of the skimmer.

what can i do, since i have no cash atm to get another seaclone, to stop the microbubble mess? i have an overflow box on my penguin 330 now, and i just tested my water (0 ammonia, 0 nitrates and nitrites, pH is at 8.2, temp at 79F) and did a water change.

ive been without a skimmer 3 days now, but my parameters have not changed. im testing once daily till i get a new skimmer.

-edit-

if anyone has just the tubing part of the skimmer and could let me borrow it till i get a new skimmer, id me MUCH oblidged. id even give you one of my corals to show thanks.

i cleaned it like a mofo while the silicon was drying. none of the parts are loose.

The Maxi Jet might be too powerfull for that skimmer, do you have a smaller pump you can try?

I wouldnt get too worried about it yet if you dont have sps. If you do get worried do water changes more frequently.

It comes with a MJ 1200. If the skimmer is very clean it will do this until it gets dirty. At least mine always did.

if you take off the skimmate cup and look down the tube, youll see a small tube surrounded by a larger tube.the larger tube that surrounds the smaller tube is loose
