I have just started dabling in NaCl. Started with a 10g nano, and know I want to change my 135g fresh to salt. My ? is, why drill holes in your tank? I heard something about a "Loop System" what is this? I am in S.A. Were would I go? What about an "overflow"?

the loop system or what others call closed loop, is simply something that is circulating water through from one point of the tank to the other. For an example, THe inlet of the loop would be at the bottom left of the tank, and the outlet would be say at the top right, or where ever you decide would be the best place for your tank. It simply just recirculates the water without going throught a filter.
Over flows work only for sumps, fuges, etc. Not realy for a closed loop system.

I live on the N.E. Side by the Forum. I would like to see some other tanks. So am I to understand if you have this "closed loop system you don't need an overflow? Can you still use a sump w/o an overflow?

A closed loop is to add additional flow.
Fin-Addicts drills and they are close to you.

As Pete says the closed loop is for additional circulation. I have a closed loop and also an overflow that feeds my sump where I have my skimmer. I'm in your area if you want to come by and look at a tank and get a better idea or you can also go by finaddict and check out their setups
