So far all I've found if frozen/cooked, Two different shops told me due to security delays since 9-11 they wont order live shellfish.

The only place I have seen them are at the larger, high volume HEB's up here that have a large seafood dept.

I used to have muscles, not anymore.
Let me rephrase this question, is there an HEB with live mussels near CB pets. Fin Addict, Aquatic Warehouse or Alamo Aquatics?

The HEB that I get them at is at Wurzbach and I-10. That's about halfway between Alamo and Aquatic Warehouse.

I would suspect that the HEB at 281 & 1604 would also have them. That's between CB and Aquatic Whse.

The HEB close to finaddict stopped getting them in because they ended up throwing them away. The only HEB i know that has them is the one on broadway HEB's central market.

Alamo

Make sure they put the ice in an outside bag and not in the bag with the mussels. They need to stay on ice, but not melted ice water until you get them home. Expect to lose some on the way home.

This is a dumb question, but what do you do with the mussels? Are they to go in your tank, or do you feed them to something?

I found out from some of the more experienced folks that this is an excellent food for copperbanded butterflies. Also I seem to remember an article in Tropical Fish Hobbiest from years and years ago about a man in asia (singapore?) that used clams and mussels to feed finicky eaters like butterflies. It works, within a minute of placing an opened mussel in my tank the CBB was tearing it up.
