Is 850GPH enough for a 70 gall corner tank?

Planning a sqwd for Acros, Montis, LPS, and Softies....and a clam.

It is said to have a turnover rate of around 25-30 for sps.

Tunze 6060.

That's is about 10x turnover considering your 70g is more like 60g when you subtract LR, etc. The 850gph is probably 700-800 if you are lucky.

That is decent sump turnover, now add a 1200-1500gph closed loop or Tunze and you have a nice SPS tank :D

But ... buy lots of super glue :lol

I ran one 6060 in there and it worked perfect! That was the best SPS growing tank I had, and set-up pretty simple.

I agree with the TUnze. I am getting a 6060 for my 75. I am also thinking about making a closed loop with a mag 9.5 or another Seio for the bottom of my barebottom tank to eliminate any dead spots. I dont think it will be too mcuh flow since there is no sand.

well for my 55 gallon i have 2 seio 820's and a mag 7 for the return from the sump, would that be good flow for sps?

Nope... Need a random or alternating current device. Static flow isnt optimal.

I drilled it and added several inlets adn was wanting to run on pump from the sump to two sqwds going into the four returns.

Would 20X turn over be enough? Found a nice 1500GPH pump failry decent on price.

If you cant afford the controller ready Tunze's then you may want to consider the MaxiJet Mods. They are going to be WAY CHEAPER and put out about as much flow as a SEIO 820 and they are wavemaker ready. And lets be honest if they break... for <$50 you can trash them and get another :)

I use the tunze wave machine 3500 gph+ plus the jet stream(6060)not sure the flow rating, but all together around 5000+/-, not to mention the return pump mag 18(around 1200 gph at 4 feet).
I use all of that in 125 gallon sps tank. Works great!
Less stagnent areas that can develope IMO.
