Well, I am back from 2 months in Jordan/Iraq, and my tank seemed to weather my absence a little better this time. The last time I did this trip, I had hair algae *everywhere* It was disgusting. But my skimmer kept working this time, which helped.
This time:
- I have these little "tufts" of hard-packed green algae, kind of like cotton balls. They are very easy to remove
- I have quite a few of the really-hard marble-like algae. But not too bad
- All the fish are fine, and I didn't lose any corals (not that I have a lot)
- My Sally lightfoot has more than doubled in size. It is around 6" tip-to-tip
- I lost two ballasts (stupid coralvue ballasts)
- My osmolater quit working, but smacking the pump made it work again
- No leaks, no disasters!
On an unrelated note, it is good to be back in the US. Being gone sure makes me appreciate how good we have it here.
