I was sitting at my desk and just happened to look back at my tank, well to my surprise there was this huge black crab leg sticking out from a crevice of a rock grabbing at fomr food on the rock. It was black colored with grey fuzzu hair, never got to see the rest of the crab, as soon as i spum arounf it jetted back in cover. Any ideas as to what kind it is, or how to draw it out to trap it. I switched to a predator tank about 3 months ago and had never seen this crab in the 3 years of reef keeping previous, but i always knew i had something in there, now i know, but what is it. Any help appreciated....it was ugle, **** ugly..... >_<

If its a predator tank, get a triger, or a Harlequin Tusk. Puffers will do the trick too. Crabby goodness. yumm. :P

Bait and set a trap just as the lights go out for the night. You can use a red light to see in there so you can see when to lift the trap or drop the door. If its a more intricate trap, it will get stuck in the trap and be there in the morning for you to remove. Put a small split clam or mussel at the other end of the tank before lights out to attrack the hermits away from the trap area.
