Hey guys, I stained my new 125's canopy and stand. it was my first time using stain. I know some of the more experienced wood workers will find flaws, but i think it looks good for a first time, had alot of fun doing it..coat after coat and the glossy spray. I screwed up buying 2 different colors of stain, had to sand everything and start from scratch, but anyways, here it is..

Critisizm is more than welcome :)

Diego, what type of glossy spray did you use? When I stained mine I didnt put any coat for protection. I didnt want to use varnish cause I hate the way it looks. I like the way yours looks, not too glossy. It looks natural. LMK

If you dont want it glossy use a satin finish.

Looks GREAT, Diego! :D

What did you use for the inside of the canopy? Reason I ask, is that I painted ours with a white (reflective color) swimming pool paint (Lowes) and it is wonderful. Does a great job waterproofing the inside of the hood at a minimal price. Best to use two to three coats though, as the wood will soak up the majority of the first coat.

Good Job!!! :D :D

LOL, its not hard, just paint and wait..then do it again. I screwed up buying the wrong stain at first..so i had to sand ALOT...Took me 2 days to stain it, one to sand, the next to stain..but im very pleased with the way it came out..

I think it looks great. In my house our home projects have evolved to the point where I do the planning and building and my wife does the "finishing". It took a handful of projects for us to realize that she was far more talented with painting and staining than I am. I just never really got the hang of it. So I can appreciate the amount of work that goes into those types of jobs.
