Looking at the CSS 220. Anyone have any experience on this skimmer. I have talked to Reef69 about the Turboflotor T1000 and I am trying to decide between the two not sure which one to go with. Any one have some input on either skimmer.

I have an AquaMedic TurboFloator 5000 and love it :D I have heard similar good words about the T1000, but don't have any first hand knowledge. I like the TF 5K because there is very little "adjusting" to be done, it just WORKS!
We have some members (Pete) that make beckett skimmers and at very reasonable prices, just remember that you will need a fairly significant size pump ($s) to run a beckett skimmer. The needle wheel skimmers like the TF and CSS work a little differently and don't need a high end pump.
Don't go cheap on your skimmer, or you will be buying another one within a year!

If that's the case check this place out or any that carry them. They are basically the same as the euroreef, just less expensive.

Yeah I was looking at the ASM G1 or possibly the G1X but dang that is a lot of money but I know they are good. Will have to look around some more.

I like the idea that you can buy just the pump or needle wheel for the pumps from their website. I have a Sedra 12000 pump and know that the 9000 uses the same standard impeller so I'm thinking of ordering the needle wheel impeller for the 9000 and seeing what happens. May end up breaking every needle off of the wheel due to the difference in revolution rate but we'll see.

So the ASM G1X would be way better then the CSS 220 I take it. There is only like $30 difference between the three of them. I guess which ever one I get I won't be going backwards like i did with my FO witht he seaclown 150 I had. LOL I worked but I had to fiddle with everyday to get a 1/4 cup of skimmate.

soo it looks like the euro reef is the winner.....? I also saw a monster Pro Clear skimmer at AA when i was looking at the CSS, with about the same price...

The G2 is for system to 110g I think with a sedra 3500 pump for 238 shipped from asmskimmers.com not all that bad but 40-60 more then the turboflotor or the CSS220. More then likely better skimmer though. As most know in this hobby you get what you pay for. LOL Will have to make that choice soon enough. Wife my have a cow when i tell her how much though. :)

A friend has an asm skimmer and he is delighted. I am thinking of getting one myself for a 75 gallon that I am going to be setting up soon. Good lick finding a skimmer Doug.
