I wish to retrofit compact lights for the hood of my Eclipse 3. If anyone has done this, can you recommend which lights to use and any difficulties encountered?

Thank you, V2k :wacko

You are pretty limited because of the size of the filtration, I had a single 65 watt PC and it fit fine but doesn't provide much light penetration at all. It also makes controling temperature an issue. I ended up scraping the hood, and building a custom hood to fit more lights and two fans to keep cool. Since the filtration isn't really needed, it makes more sense to add something that is needed, more light!
just my .02 cents. good luck!

If you dont have a ballast yet, I have a Jebo ballast that came with a tank i bought a while back, it can run 2x36 watt lamps, I used it for a week only. Originally i had 2 ballasts for sale, but i just have this 1 left..LMK
