I don't think that is going to hold much water ... but a water change should be simple ;)

Hope it was insured, that bites!

Yeah, even if it wasnt, I think UPS automatically insures it for $100.

Well, I got it used, so no vendors, I guess I will have to file a claim, what a pain in the ***!
I did contact the seller, but he packed it better than JBJ packs it. UPS must have drop-kicked it down a flight of stairs or something.

That's really crappy cpreefguy. Sorry to see that.

I refuse to ship anything UPS or buy from anyone that will only use UPS.
I think I am on a blacklist with UPS because I don't recall ever receiving anything that wasn't broken.
Well, I have to revise my prior statement.
The only thing that didn't show up broken was out in the rain for several hours because the driver couldn't be bothered to ring the doorbell.
This should not have happened since Wendy was home to take delivery of the package.

UPS Bites.

cpreefguy-

I would file a claim and just go buy another tank. Hope you still have all the packaging as well since UPS will want it (as if that matters).
UPS might decide to pay the claim but I can assure you that you won't receive a dime from UPS in less than 3 months.
I have a friend who has a claim going w/ UPS right now and he has been waiting over a year to get his money back. $1400 was ordered by the court to be reimbursed by UPS within 10 days- that was 3 months ago and he still hasn't been reimbursed.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but just letting you know so you don't expect results quickly.

Like Joshua said- the seller actully has to file the claim.
What's wrong with that picture?

hey Shaun, sorry to hear that man..UPS sucks.Period. I sold a PC fixture a few months ago..they broke the bulbs and the fixture but i insured everything for $200 bucks. Long story short, it took them close to 2 months to give up the insurance money...Hope its not the case this time..

Consider yourself real lucky Diego.

Joshua- Well, I guess that makes sense.
The problem that I have with that is I am required to contact UPS to have someone come out for an inspection.
I had a situation with a chiller that I purchased. The seller went to the trouble of actually crating this thing.
Built a frame to protect the unit out of 2x4's and bolted it to a 3/4" plywood base. Used 3/4" plywood all the way around for protection.
Must have wasted $10 on the bright orange "fragile" and "this side up" stickers.
Well, of course, those idiots shipped it across the US upside down. They even delivered it to me upside down.
Anyone here ever seen what happens when a 15lb chiller compressor hangs upside down for 1500 miles with numerous stops and abuse in between?
Bottom line is, I ordered the chiller because it was hot. When they came out to inspect it, they wanted to take the chiller and crate. I asked how long it would be before I could expect to either have payment or a new chiller. Needless to say, I repaired it myself as I couldn't afford to buy another chiller and couldn't be without one for an undisclosed amount of time. I am sure they would have made good after summer was over.... YEAH RIGHT!

That was the last time I used UPS and to this day won't buy from anyone who won't ship with another carrier.

Yeah, I just need a tank. The tank only from nano-tuners is only $50, but they dont have any in-stock. I hope UPS dosnt take forever with the claim, but I know they will.

I really do hope you get the reimbursment in a timely fashion. Maybe smaller claims receive better attention than the larger claims.

Maybe, It is just such an inconvenience. On top of this, Mark, Ross, and I went in on a $140 coral that arrived dead (UPS also) just last week, and the guy basically told us that we're screwed. So now we have to file a paypal claim blah blah blah.... so Im just not having good luck with shipping!

wow I usually have the same kind of luck that you do and man it sucks! Patiently wait for something to arrive and then find its broken or dead, sorry to hear of your bad luck and hope the claims are taken care of extremly quick!

Don't rely on the paypal claim (pay by credit card on top of paypal.) Paypal brush me off. My credit card company took care of me plus throwing in $50 for my headache. Are you sure UPS will pay for glass and light bulb damage?
