Clam with a hole

My Dersa Clam has another hole which is geting bigger in the center of him He is also not looking as healthy. What would be the cause of this? Is he dieing?

Hate to say it, but yes another hole is a bad thing. My derasa actually died this week from something very similar. I think the clam was being pestered by a dwarf angel and it finally either ripped a hole in it, or scared it enough for it to accidently rip itself. Definitely not a for sure answer but only time will tell I guess. By morning, the mantle of mine was completely gone and the only thing left were the organs.

Its still hanging in there so hopefully it will heal

two of my crocea's were bein picked on by a wrasse and then after i got him out of the tank, they got mantle pinch. after fresh water dips, they looked bad. they had multiple holes in their mantles. today, one month later, they are all healed up and doing great. so hang in there, those guys are pretty tough.

I think he is getting better the hole is almost closed now :D
