I am setting up a 45g Breeder 36"X18"X16" BB and I was wondering if the LAIII mini would give me good coverage to have SPS in the middle section and lower light corals on the edges. I was planning on using a Hamilton 14kk bulb and it has like 350 par from JBNY's work. I will be mounting the mini to the wall to hang over the tank. I will be running it on an EVC eballast as the cost of electricity is about 12cents Kw/hr. Any changes I should make? I thought about going T5 but I want the shimmer effect and the ability to not have to worry about upgrading lights if I decide to get a bigger tank.

Hey Doug, we have no idea what that is. Can you post a link so that we can see what you are talking about?

No I dont have a center brace at all so that is an advantage for me. I was thinking that if I hand it like 9" above the water then I should get a good spread. Here is a link http://www.pacificgardensupply.com/proddetail.asp?prod=LA3&cat=2

Here is a link to the Lumenarc III regular whick is like 19.5"X19.5"X9" but that would be too big for me but the mini is 14.5"X14.5"X6.5" Just wondering what people thought. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/mar2003/feature.htm

hey Brian, that is last months tank of the month for Italy. IT is an amazing tank, anyways regarding the lighting. I think that is enough to keep anything you want Doug, specially if you go DE.

well it wont be DE because the Lumenarc's are only SE right now. They are however working on a DE retro into the LAIII reflector. But I was looking at the LAIII because it looks like the spread of light is good. he Hamilton 14kk lloks good and the PAR looks good as well with 350 on eballast.
