I had a bit of a disaster at my place last night with the new 92 corner tank. I put my 250w halide about 2 inches form a glass cover on the tank. I was excited I finally got it all together so I ran to the liqour store to get stuff for margaritas, so I could sit back have a drink and zone out looking at the tank. Well, I came home about 10 miniutes later to find the glass had shattered and was inside the tank, and the 250w bulb was broke in half . So now I need a new 250w bulb. I like the 20k but would also go with a 14k. My bulbs are single ended.

I would try to contact Greg (360reef). He's up here in Austin though.

Excuse me, I'm still a little shy talking about lights and such, but did I read correctly that you had 250 watts of light 2 inches off a glass cover? Why?

get with Joshua, he's doing a group order for XM bulbs. your bulb is to close to the water. needs to be 12'' to 18'' off the water.

Dan, I agree with that information but shouldn't the glass canopy be removed also?

He had it set as a very temperary setup, as in just moved over stuff and has it sitting across I think it was 2x4 and the tank lid to give his corals lights.
I did the same thing once with some pendants. Came home to find my glass shattered and luckily my pendants were resting (hardly) on the edge of the tank rim.

this was a VERY temporary setup. I had the halide over the glass for at most 15 miniutes. I was in the process of transfering a 30 cube, 65 breeder, and a 54 corner all into my 92 corner tank. The lights wee just resting on 2x4 boards at first, then I put the glass in to guard from splashng. I know the bulb should be far from the water, this was just going to be for a few hours while I shuffled things around. My place looked like a tornado went through it and scattered the floor with pumps, sumps, lights, tanks, etc........................ I am getting one from either Louis or Felipe today. Anyonw have experience with Aqualine 10k 250 watters?

LMAO. I am 27, my mother probably knows 10% of the stuff I do at my place and that is enough for her. She doesnt want to know the rest. We race, we party, and we do lots of nasty things, and I wouldnt have it any other way
