I hate my net nazis at work. :angry

I can never get to these links that are at RC because it's blocked as a chat room. That and many pictures don't come across depending on the server of the internet provider they sit on (like AOL etc.).

What's the deal, do they expect me to work all day. :lol :lol :lol :lol

I wonder if you need a ceramic thrust washer on the end of the magnet that fits inside the powerhead? The regular mj impeller puts out more radial thrust than axial thrust due to the side discharge/center suction but with the small prop you will get a substantial axial thrust load on the small plastic thrust washer maxijets come with. Maybe the impeller being held in magnetic center when running takes up for most of the axial loading?

is anyone planning on doing this? I'd like to find stainless or titanium rods locally... any ideas?

I've got one of these working if anyone is interested in seeing it in action. I've only tested it in my sink (I put it all together at work) but I'll test it in the tank tonight and give a full report in the flow compared to the TUNZE 6060 I have.

I'm at work so I don't have a camera handy but I will snap some shots tonight. I have to admit its not much to look at... Almost identical to the original post. This is actually really easy to do. I changed a few things to make it easier to clean and service but for the most part its the same mod.

I don't see a massive flow like I get from the Tunze so I'm thinking about a larger propeller and housing for the next MOD. Maybe double the size, I think the MJ1200 can easily handle that.

not much to look at but here it is... This thing is far more powerful than I thought it was going to be from the kitchen sink test. I think Todd was impressed when we hooked it up in his small tank and it kicked up crud from the depths.

This is a mod worth doing. Let me know if I can help

Hmmm, don't know why the pic didn't show on that last post.

Anyone that is thinking about trying a Tunze or SEIO should look into making one of these. I'd say it's about 70% the strength of the Tunze 6060 I have in my tank. 70% of the flow at a fraction of the cost and at least half the size... not bad at all!!!

It's actually amazing how much this little guy puts out!!!
