what frag should i get for my mentor???got pics of his tank

well i have a friend down here that has a wonderful tank...it is all sps and a few zoos..but he has helped me out so much i want to do something for him...he is the Master Reefer in are area.when i get home i will put a few pics of his tank up for yall...i want to get him some thing that is very rare or some thing that is just too cool for words..the only coral i have found that cost alot is called a super man...i looked at a few pics of it but i dont see what all the hype is about...kinda looks dull to me...but if you can think of some thing rare or just cool as can be...plz let me know the name and where to get it...thanks yall so much...i know yall can think of some thing....rich...

If the guy is a master reefer you might want to check with him before giving him anything. He might have it just the way he likes it. To you it may be plain to him it may be fantastic. I know I get more excited looking at all the stuff growing in my filter and fuge than looking at my fish now. :lol

well i know the guy will say not to worry about it..but he has given me so many frags i feel its just the right thing to do...plus he is in the army like me and he has a few kids...im doing okay with the funds right now so i want to get him something...i cant tell how cool this guys is...he even gave me a euro reef skimmer when he upgraded....so any help would be great...thz...rich

Try to find a superman danea to see in person, it is a very cool piece... I was given a nice sized frag but it was in bad shape after the long trip from East Tx to SA. I've had it about 3 or 4 weeks and its finally starting to blue up. The tiny red polyps are really nice.

well the only local superman is in tucson and for a 1/4 inch frag the guy wants $125...i dont see it being that cool...thats kinda why im looking to something else...rich

They both live in AZ and if I were you, I would get him something like a gift certificate.

If you really want to get him a coral, go ask his wife (or girlfriend) to find out what he really wants and then try and get that.

Great ideas Polkster!!! Much better plan than guessing... He may not need/want/be able to have what you pick out but the GC is the gift that keeps on giving!!!

Polkster may even offer Gift Certificates (dont know)

I think he outa be giving you the frags and not the other way around ;) I wouldnt take it upon myself to make a decision in that tank. It looks like realestate is a real issue.

It looks like he would have room for a nice clam, although I still think a GC is a good idea. Maybe a bucket of salt or a new refractometer???

Wow, finally saw the tank. Those sps corals are huge. I see he only has space on the bottom of his tank so like Jade mentioned a clam would be a nice gift.

I am not sure if the blue tort is the same thing as the cali tort or the oregon tort. They can be pretty expensive, they usually go for anywhere between 70-90 dollars depending on the seller. FOr that price you can probably get something that is an inch or smaller. Like mentioned before, a clam would be nice or you couldnt go wrong with a gift certificate. I love the small tenius, exactly like mine before it died. Good luck finding something.
