I received the following message today from other boards and I thought it would be cool if this site did the same thing.

Sure, the other boards can email you.. but where else can you get 5 Happy B-day wishes in a row? hmmm?

I'll look into this idea again. As far as I know there isn't an already created modification for our forum software which will also send out a greeting email on b-day events.

It's still a nice idea to incorporate into the site, but I think it may be easiest to hold off on implementing it until we move to a new server which shouldn't be too long now.

Well, thank you all for the happy birthday wishes. It was a good day and I even heard from my brother (who is usually overseas and I usually only get an email from him).

Chris, I understand about the server move. Lots to do to get that one accomplished and the last thing you want to be doing is slicing and dicing the code right before a big move like that. I just wanted to post the suggestion as I had received several emails from the other boards which I thought was totally cool and I know others would appreciate the same thing on thier birthdays. Of course they have to enter their birthday for this to work.

Also, the Home Theater Forum shows people's birthdays on the calendar and at the bottom of the main page. You could either make this available to charter members only or to the whole group. Maybe do Charter members on the calendar and everytone at the bottom of the screen. Check out www.HomeTheaterForum.com to see what I am talking about.

Anyway, keep up the great work. I think we have one of the best web sites out there and it will only get better.
