I know SOMEBODY did this at one time, but I don't remember who it was. All specimens from the Red Sea. Pretty cool actually! What were you wanting to do?

moody gardens has reef "biotope" tanks from several different regions, they're pretty cool.

MikeP did one one time that he called his Texas Coast tank.. (I think it was Texas) and it was cool.

Some people get into doing specific tanks like you mention, but most people like fish or corals that tend to originate from different areas. That's why many of our tanks are more beautiful than most areas you see in the ocean. We usually select the most colorful/beautiful things and put them in a small space that doesn't occur naturally. You can design a tank to replicate not just a certian ocean of the world, but also different parts/depths of the ocean. There are many, many different ecosystems that make up our oceans/seas. Creatures vary depending on depth, light, temperature, salinity, terrain, and many other variables.
Sorry, I watch too much Discovery Channel! lol :)
