View Full Version : 7/24/05 - Server downtime

On Sunday night, July 24, 2005 The Planet (where our server is hosted) will be conducting site-wide network maintenance at the DLLSTX2 and DLLSTX4 data centers for 4 hours, beginning at 11:59PM CDT (GMT-0500) to upgrade firmware code on The Planet's TippingPoint network anti-intrusion system.

Although the work is not expected to affect network availability, it is possible that latency and packet loss may be experienced for very brief periods of time during the upgrade.

Most likely MAAST will not be reachable during this timeframe.

I know about the pocket loss. Everytime I step into a fish store my pocket has a loss.... But I didnt even know that I had a latency....

I'm still trying to figure out which Planet is hosting our server... :huh

The Planet's TippingPoint network anti-intrusion system.

And is this that Star Wars thing the government doesn't want us to know about?:blink

I hate it when that happens. Don't we have a spare flux capacitor or something? Check the for sale forum. I'm always looking for those durn packets.

Oh no, not the flux capacitor. :( Are the dilithium crystals still good? :huh If you put your ear to the screen you might hear" Captain she can't take no more" :on What will NACLH2O do if he can't roam the board that late.

Ed, "The Planet" is the name of the company who owns one of the worlds most premier datacenters located up in Dallas, Tx.

Way up north there in Dallas? No wonder I thought it was on another planet.:lol

Wonder if it is anywhere near the Animal Planet? I don't get that channel on my satellite, but I hear it's pretty cool. Oh well, now we all have to find something else to do for a couple hours Sunday night. Hmmm . . . we could just go to sleep at a decent hour for a change, but that's no fun! :P lol

Sleep? :unsure

How can we possibly sleep with all of this latency and not knowing where the missing packets are?

Not to mention that we have no backup flux capacitor. :blink
