I had lost some small clove ployps about a month ago.
Then today, I see the same thing on my newly aquired Green Star polyps.....
Shoot@#$%@#$Darn@$%@$#%@#$F***
If I lost these things I am gonna be ****ed.....
Any thoughts as to what this might be?? And treatment.

Zoom in more. Very strange. I have never seen anything like it. I will ask some people I know (true reef gods) tomorrow. Try and get a better pic.

The white spots? Pics are small, but is this the type with a stoney skeleton and polyps that extend out - like a pipe organ, or are the white spots in a fleshy area?
In any case, I would think an iodine dip is what I would try? Joshua likes Iodine in RO/DI (no salt), but I usually add it to saltwater from the tank. I have had luck getting various SPS and LPS to improve with a dip every few days to clear up infections, etc. Haven't tried it on something like this but ... don't know that you could lose much?
Also, take them out into a small bowl and use a magnifying glass to look for any parasites (nudi's, etc.) - the dip would get rid of these too.

Its like a spider is weaving webs right over the top of the polyps...........it killed the other polyps in 2 days.....

It's hard to see from the pics, but it looks like those same darn clear/white-ish sponges that we were talking about in that zoa thread a few days ago. There's also supposed to be some kind of ailment that only plagues zoas - cheezy white substance - but I doubt that would be it. Zooming in on the pics *would* be super helpful if possible.

This is about as good as I could get............pulled the whole rock out and did a lugols tech D dip...........droped the whole rock, and 2 of the clumps of polyps went flying, reglued those to another rock and put in fuge.
Wanted to get them out of the main tank anyway........it like some sort of fungus.
These guys were doing AWESOME, until yesterday, then today, completely closed and this crap on them......it definately moves fast.

Wierd :unsure How about moving them to a higher flow area? I would pull them into a bowl where you can inspect with a Mag Glass.
Also, try PM'ing Instar/Larry - maybe he has some clue?

yes, the white part is the fungus web like stuff.
It is formed right over the ends of the polyps....
The first bunch it killed a month ago was pipe organ.............the ones in the pic right here are green star polpys from Gary's tank.

If its not a first time thing then there is definitly something in the tank! I search RC where I also pay so I can use that function ;) and cant find info. The picture isnt clear enough to identify eith so the search funch doesnt help!!

From the pics it just looks like the slime/fungus that grows over a dead or dying coral. Do you know what your water params are?
Hard to tell exactly what it is from the pics.

Josh,
That is pretty much exactly what I did....
Thanks for the advice.
I move them after the freshwater dip to the fuge where there is a lot less light.
Just two vho.
