Hey folks,
I just tried to plumb up my chiller only to find that it has developed a couple of leaks over the last year of sitting in my garage. Does anyone know of a place in the Austin area that services chillers? I'd like to see what it would cost to repair before i go and plop down mucho dinero for a replacement! Wouldn't you know it's a Red Sea unit that has since gone out of business!
thanks,
Jeff

Jeff - I would think any place that serviced air conditioners would be able to help you. You *are* talking about a freon leak, right?

Not a chance Wendy, good thought though. I tried everyone when I needed mine repaired a few years back and couldn't get anyone to touch it. I ended up paying a ridiculous shipping charge to send it back to aqualogic for repairs.

Unfortunately it's not a freon leak...the main mixing chamber/canister has these compression type seals on it. I tried taking it apart myself but probably just made it worse. I hate to think about the alternative, but maybe i should start another post about what type of chiller to buy.

Hmmm. Well, I did some searches on Google and came up with this guy. I guess you can send him an eMail and see what his pricing is like:

Call Ken Bowen at 210-669-9959, he has repaired to least one for the group. His company services San Antonio and Austin.

Where were you guys when I needed mine fixed? LOL.... I ended up shipping mine back to CA for a ungodly price.
