This is my first experience with MH bulbs in a canopy. ( 2 250w 15K) The temp in the tank in the day goes up to about 81.5 or more by 6:30 . Pete put some fan holes in the side of the canopy. What do I put in there..."I know fans" but what, where & size. Will two 4" fans work? and the best place to get them. LFS or MO it doesn't matter. Oh yes the house sits at 75-76 daytime and 73 at night.
Thanks

81.5 isn't a bad temperature but I'd keep it in the 78-80 range. Look on the internet for Icecap varying fans. They speed up as the temperature climbs and slow down as it drops.

go to altex and pick up some 120mm dc powered computer fans. they work great. at $10 a pop not too bad. to power it get a 12v ac to dc power inverter like the ones you get to power all your small electronics (home phone, computer components)

Another piece of advice. Over design your cooling capacity. This is not the time of year you are going to have problems with cooling. I have more problems in the spring and fall when its cool outside and the AC does run as much or the windows are open. It has more to do with humidity in the house then it does the temperature. The fans are actually causing evaporation which is the main way an aquarium is cooled by fans.

Thanks to everyone who replied. :D I am on my way to Altex to buy some fans and a pwr converter. Seems like a cheaper way to go.

I used some fans from pccooling and they cost me 8 bucks, but for two dollar savings, I would rather support local business. They are computer fans and they work great.

If you are still looking and haven't left yet. They also have 120VAC fans that are the same size at Altex. That will save you the hassle of getting the converter.
Here's the link to them.
