I actually think I might have gotten a frag of something very similar to this at Alex's store. Time will tell if it colors up as magnificent as that piece.

Is that a bad picture? It doesn't look as nice as my mushrooms, riccordia, or my amazing pink tipped heliofungia. Maybe I also just like my own stuff better, who knows. :lol

The funny thing is that he thinks its a cap. I screwed up and told him so its gonna cost me a lot more frags to get a piece.

Here is a coral I just picked up a frag of. Its fairly uncommon. Mine is more of raspberry red.

Wow, I just read this about my new coral and needless to say moved it. I had it sitting in a tight cluster of SPS corals originally.

I'm somwhat disappointed in how it looks in my tank though. That is the downside t the XM10 10K bulbs I am running in my tank. They are pretty weak in the red wavelengths. It actually looked better under the 20K bulbs at the LFS. Anytime anyone says that 10K bulbs aren't blue enough I have a practical example to show them why that isn't necessarily true. The XM 10Ks put out more 420 nm light then a 20K.

I had to see for myself. Alex has 2 of those at his store...Awesome colors, looks like if they had sprinkled glossy, shinny thingies all over..LOL, very nice!

What is the common name for the purple coral listed on Reefer and Alex, and the one that is in my tank....the purple one on the right.

Please advise.
