I'll start this out with own. I rescued a 1/2 inch yellow tang from p-mart and slowly but surely nursed him to full strength. He's about 3 inches now and about to go to a new home but when I feed him, not only does he eat out of my hands, he'll brush up against me, like he wants to be pet or something. Then my yellow coris wrasse has no problems in a barebottom tank, but thinks it's a yellow tang. It sleeps side by side the tang and follows it around all day long.

By far the weirdest creature I had was my 6 inch peacock mantis that succumbed to shell disease. He would eat from my hand, and knew when I got up in the morning to go to work. The minute he heard the alarm go off, I'd hear banging on the rocks followed by short pauses. When you'd turn on the lights, he'd bang on a rock to get your attention, then come out of his hole and beg for food. It was so strange. He also had a favorite snail that he kept as a pet. He'd move him around the tank and never strike him. The minute another snail went in though, it was a goner.

Let's hear some more!

My 6 line wrasse twitches along with the clownfish..lol.. Whenever she gets near my pair of B&W ocellaris, she starts twitching just like one, after the clownfish see that, they start doing it too, its pretty funny..

I dont know how odd it is, but I've had 2 clowns (in different tanks) that nested in the sand. They both did basically the same thing. They would dig out large nests in the sand near the front of the glass and work day and night to keep it as deep as possible. Both were females and both had host anemones near or in the sand where they would dig. I dont know if it was to help the enemone, but if it was it didnt work. The anemones would constanly have to purge sand that was kicked up into them by the clowns.

It was funny to see the clowns reaction when I would smooth the sand and they would have to start all over :) not happy with me at all!!!

My cleaner wrasse is funny to watch. I put a clam in there the other day and it started to bite and hold on then roll to tear off pieces to eat. The cleaner wrasse that thinks it is a shark :lol

Had a Regal Tang that use to go in my Bubble Tip Anenome to clean itself. He would go in and roll around just like a clown fish that resided there. He quit after a month and I got tired of the Anenome stinging my corals so I sold the Anenome and clownfish

Not long ago I caught my Naso tang swimming over to a back corner of the tank, rolling over and then hovering there upside down for awhile behind the rock. I saw him do this numerous times over a few weeks and I could never figure out why it was doing that. Was really goofy looking! Made me nervous for awhile, but it is in good health and doesn't seem to do it anymore.

I used to have a sebae clownfish that would go about 15 inches above his anenome and just freeze and fall into the anenome. He resides at River City Aquatics in display above the nice metal halide frag tank Carlos set up. Not sure if he has an anenome in there but he will dig a bunker and do the same thing. i miss my tacky the pipe layer :(

I have a beautiful Lunar Wrasse in my 75 that I swear is a tad "hyperactive" and has an internal clock...
He swims (really fast) back and forth ~ back and forth :roll all day long non-stop.. if you watch him it gets you dizzy...

BUT the kicker is ~ as soon as its 10-10:30pm its "nite-nite" time for him and he will literally stop and flop down on his side like if he has fainted...right in the middle of his swimming marathon and fall asleep.... no matter where... the middle of the tank on the sand ~ on the rocks ~ on my corals... when I first saw this happen I thought ohh great, its dead.. it collapsed and died from exhaustion but NOPE ~ he's really asleep and nothing will wake him up... It's like clockwork.... :wacko I'm not sure if this is normal behavior for these types of fish but its VERY weird and funny at the same time....

i have a area in the front of my 75 that i keep open for my anemone to sprawl out when it feels happy. my pink spotted shrimp goby thinks its his lawn and keeps if very kept. if any hermits or snail walk across the area he will pick them up in his mouth and spit them out of either side of the tank.

I have a twenty-nine gallon tank with a clown fish and a yellow tang. As long as the clown fish is not in the bulb tip anemone the yellow tang will hang with the clown. Every where the clown goes the Tang is sure to follow. It's great watching these two swim around with each other like two buddies.

My flame angel used to swim around upside down like one of those upside down catfish or whatever. It was pretty neat. The first time i saw him i got worried but he started doing it more and more and it was pretty cool.
