Wow. Just. Wow.
To heck with corals... look for giga-clams.
Some of those are labeled as "priceless"... >_<

I would gladly pay that much for a coral! If I had a endless supply of money and I was crazy!

i just sold a full colony of acanthastrea echinata, "orange crush" as its being called, for $399. Since it had 50+ heads, thats $8 per head. I have a full colony of lordhowensis coming in tonight, and its going to go for around $30-35 per head, which is almost what blastos are going for! I see these guys selling them for $1999, $1500, or even $1000 per colony. The crazy ones are the ones buying them :lol

For that price you could go yourself to the ocean and get it or pay somebody to get it for you and come back with lots more.

I'm down. I'm taking collections to start pulling illegally from the ocean to any takers :unsure
$2000 / colony :lol (Payment accepted up front in the form of Paypal or cash)
Disclaimer: This is, of course, a joke.

That saltwaterfish link is too funny...I love the sales pitch:
Plus in the right environment they are fast growers. These corals are an excellent investment for the long-term hobbyist, especially since they can help to recoup the costs of running an aquarium. As coral imports become more and more scarce and CITES allotments continue to dwindle the market for Acanthastrea may become similar to that of gold and diamonds.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA. Although at that price you could get a darn nice diamond ring.

Honey, I was gonna get you that diamond ring you wanted for our 20th anniversar, but this coral is going to be worth so much more one day.
Nope, don't see that one working. :huh
