The really tough part is getting a healthy CBB! They are very prone to internal parasites, nad difficult to get acclimated to eating prepared foods. Also tough to get one trained to not "nip" at almost anything in the tank. My guess is that 90% of the CBBs handled by LFSs are destined to die. Only the VERY experienced can pick out the healthy ones, and treat/train them so that they can survive.

If you are really interested, I suggest you PM "Instar" (Larry), he is our resident CBB expert, and has many thriving CBBs in his tanks.

Larry has a school of them in his reef. He got me started on them too. I have one in each of my tanks. They typically come in with parasites on them. Ich, flukes, and other worms. Getting them to eat is another challenge. Even if they are feeding in an LFS tank, they are very shy in a community tank.

Following this thread as I am also interested in Copperbands. Don't want to hijack the thread, but does anyone know the difference between the Australian CBB's and the IndoPacific CBB's??
