We snapped a couple more pics of the mystery Tang.
We think we have finally figured out exactly what this fish is.
Here's a pic of our fish now:

schoeplein-
Good call.
We posted a pic of this fish when we first got it and created a 6 page thread. It didn't quite have the coloration that it has now. The yellow banding around the eyes wasn't as apparent until just a week or two ago.
We were thinking that it was a Dussumier Tang from the beginning but weren't sure until recently.
I was about to post the link that you provided.
Diego,
Didn't you bet us something? JK :P

Tim-
It's definitely the aggressive fish in our tank. It's a very cool fish and loves swimming a 7 foot tank. It controls the entire tank but doesn't beat up the other fish- unless they ask for it.
Thanks for everything- you, once again, have made it possible.

Nice pic on that site, Steve...thanks!
Yep, she's getting prettier and more colorful every day. She is quite literally a nori eating machine (HUGE appetite) and also loves mysis, clams, and especially the Spirulina I feed...OK, she'll eat pretty much anything that goes in the tank that even remotely looks like food :roll
I absolutely love this fish! :wub As Chris stated, she IS pretty aggressive though...not to the point of actual fighting with the other fish (just a lot of displaying and posturing), but she defends her cave in the rockwork with zeal, and is generally the first to eat, etc. Basically, she has become the "Diva" of our display. :D

shoot, i'm not selling mine now. i've had one for over a year, got him when he was not much over an inch and now he's over 4 inches long. eats like pig and is very friendly. does yours turn jet black with just white tangs on its tail when he gets ticked off. its pretty evil looking.

LOL...I wouldn't say "jet black", but she gets pretty dark. All her stripes disappear, and heh - yeah, she can look pretty "mean" if she wants to. She's always friendly to me though..."mom" means food :roll
