I noticed this weird looking crab in my Montipora Digitata. It didn't seem to be eating anything, just hanging out. Of course I caught him and removed the sucker quick just to be safe, but does anyone know what type of crab it is? My camera doesn't take great macros, but it almost looks like a tick to me.

I can't really tell from the pic, but it is probably an acro crab. I have one in every colony i have bought from FA. They keep your corals clean :)

I've been looking around and it seems to be some type of majid (http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-12/rs/index.htm) crab (same class as decorator crabs). It definitely has the right body shape, even if the legs are somewhat shorter than most majid's. I think I'll probably have to get rid of him (yet another LR hitchiker to get rid of!). Thanks for your help,

Matt
