when plumbing you just have to stand in the pvc isle at HD with a blank stare on your face as you run through the whole system in your head trying to decide how many and which parts to get :ph34r

Mon, 25th Jul 2005, 03:21 PM

After my last trip (probably 20th) the other day I just decided to by a cr@p load of extra stuff I might need and just keep the receipt. Maybe just easier that way, of course now I'll need to make a run to Lowes for something.

Mon, 25th Jul 2005, 05:04 PM
heres how i do it......as if anyone cares.......
when it comes to a tank plumbing i am anal about it. i draw out my tank and the sump and then draw out what i want and how i want it to look and how it needs to function. and by doing this you can cut trips down SO MUCH. my tank was a one trip job. plus yes i buy at least 6 of each thing more than i need.
::pete::
Mon, 25th Jul 2005, 05:26 PM

Looking good! Question, on your plumbing it looks like you have a flexible PVC tubing and then use regular PVC angles to attach them, did you use PVC cement to glue them together and did it work well?

Brian is no longer allowed to associate with ~Pete~ :lol Pete mentioned that he has used a lighter to burn off apstasia before so a little lightbulb goes off in Brians head and I walk in to discover this....
http://greenmako.smugmug.com/photos/29962350-L.jpg
Hopefully it works, but if not at least he had fun and got some retribution.
(BTW- TexasTodd you are on probation...Whats this I hear of running numerous stop lights??? :lol )
JK of course I love all of our MAAST friends but ya'll are crazy!!! :lol :lol
We've got fish, rock, and coral in the tank. Pete and Brian are putting the lights in now and we'll post pics later. :D :D

Brian,
You worried about the Euroreef being plumbed externally and overflowing all over the place? I personally have fed something that made my skimmer go crazy and dump into my sump and would be deathly afraid that one day I wouldn't have cleaned it yet and the stupid thing would overflow smelly smelly stuff all over my floor.
PS: My skimmer is a Euroreef 6-2
thedude
Fri, 29th Jul 2005, 02:11 PM
Yeah mine overflows too quickly and with too much water pressure in the neck so the 6-2 blows water out the top like no ones business. I'm glad to hear that Euroreef solved that problem actually... makes me think I need a new Euroreef!

The pipe has the gateflow mod on it and is also 1.5 inches. When it's goes nuts or the valve is way too closed, some water will drain back into the tank but most of it goes out the top. Maybe the diameter of your neck has something to do with it? Who knows or maybe it's the height as mine isn't nearly as tall as yours. I also puchased this one used and is about two years old now ;)
