Well my copperband butterfly has been thriving for the last 4-5 weeks(actually cant remember when I got him) so I am considering adding another fish to my tank. The copperband by the way loves for you to scratch his side when hand is in the tank for maint. and is a very very cool fish. He is a pig too eating pretty much everything now. Question is could I add a longnose butterfly to my 125g tank? I know they are both peacful fish but since they are somewhat the same shape I was curious if it would cause problems or stress for either one? Other tankmates are a volitian lion and a dwarf lion. Anyone know if this will work?

They should be OK together IMO. One of these days I want to try a butterfly "reef" tank with a copperband, yellow longnose, pyramid, & semilarvatus butterflys.

How tempered would a copper band be if added to an already established reef tank with several fish inhabitants? Would they leave him alone? The copperband and powderblue(or regal) are to be the last two fish I want in my tank...

Would my tangs that I have alread established (red sea sailfin, powder brown, bowder blue, achilles, 3 yellow and a purple) beat up a copperband if it put it in now?

They did beat up an orange shoulder when I tried to add him so
I am thinking that they would try and take out the copperband

Even if they didnt kill him, he would be too stressed out to eat and starve to death. They are such picky eaters.

I just put a copper band in with a yellow. There is a little fussing but no major battles that I have seen. I have another one in my other tank with a purple with no problems at all.

We tried to add a CBB in with our Powder Blue but he was having none of that. After about 2 hours we had to pull the CBB out and move it to a different tank.
