This guy came in on some live rock I got. What should I do with him?

I had one that looked like that that someone called a rock crab. I could be wrong but I bet he'd like your fuge.

I think I'd 'fuge it too. Those don't look like algae pickin' claws to me.

That is a bad crab, flush it or fuge it. Generally if a crab appears to be hairy, it is bad

Looks like a gorilla crab to me. Put in in the fuge or give it away would be my vote.

3rd option (http://i.timeinc.net/sunset/Premium/Home/2001/12-Dec/RegChristmas1201/CCrabFeast12012.jpg) for your crab.

Thanks guys! I think I will pass on this one and just drop it by a store. They can do what they want with the guy.

Yep, I think it is a gorilla crab.

GORILLA CRABS

You want to keep a lookout for Gorilla crabs (xanthid species). These pesky buggers are predators that can cause damage to your reef, eating anemones, clams, and anything else they can get their claws around. They might look cute when they're small, but it's just not worth putting them into the tank. If you really want to keep them, you could put them into your sump/fuge (if you have one).

The sure-fire way to spot one of these is to look for the black tips on their claws. As they get larger, they become quite "hairy" all over.

Sounds good. You can have him. PM me. The sooner you can get him the better. I just have him in a bucket right now.

Thanks Bryan! He's currently residing in my hang-on sump until Saturday! Pesky little bugger is cute. :)

btacker has a nice tank, btw.
