I have a Panworld 200PS to run my dual beckett skimmer. I am just hooking it up and it is not pumping water. Is anyone using this pump that could diagnose the problem? I did not get any instructions with the pump, however, it is brand new.
Thanks,
John

Is it primed? You have to start it with water inside the pump to start the suction.

OK, I refuse to admit to the stupid newbie mistake I made. It works, we will leave it at that for now. Maybe later I can come clean (pun intended).

JeffCo you beat me to it. :pics

Ah John if you can't laugh at yourself.............. :D

These pumps do seem to need a little more priming volume for some reason comparred to my other pumps.

One thing that is great about the pan world is the bladeless impeller...when my skimmer stop producing I took apart the pan world which was easy BTW and I found a large feeder shrimp clogged in there. Any other pump I would have been looking for a new blade for.

Yes, they are killer pumps! Much better IMO than Iwaki. I have both and the PanAm runs cooler and much more quiet.

But then there's my new Sequence. :skeezy And, the other Sequence I'm borrowing from Clifton currently. Ciff's is amazingly quiet.

What you all don't understand is that the stupid, stupid, stupid (did I say stupid?) mistake was not the issue of priming. I had already done that (a least I knew to try.) The mistake zoomed past that level of stupid into the rarified air of "ludicrously stupid." I left the shipping plug in the outlet!!!! Note to other newbies: ;) Pumps work very poorly with either the inlet or outlet of the pump plugged with the plugs with which they are shipped (or anything for that matter.) You have been warned.

I will be entering an out-patient treatment facility for the "pump impaired"......

Yeah I have both also...love the PanWorld....very quiet & cooler...I agree. Had the Iwaki for about 3 yrs tho...can't complain. Got the PanWorld in March. Very happy with both.

What I think Todd meant was that the PanWorld and Iwaki are good pumps but he likes his Sequence pumps much much better. :) They are SUPER quiet and move lots of water and use very little spark to do it. :)
