Ummm...you have to be a charter member to enable the use of an avatar....is that what you are referring to?

Apparently so.
I'm not paying to have a user picture....since I'm not here that often.
It's so not worth it.

Too bad you feel that way. :blink
BTW, you get a LOT more with a charter membership than just an avatar...discounts at LFSs, more availb. space to post pics, ability to vote at MAAST elections, ability to run for a BOD spot within the club, speakers at the meetings, raffles, door prizes at the meetings, etc....PLUS knowing that you are supporting the best reef club in Texas. ;)

Nah...
I'm sure everyone here feels that all that stuff is important.
It's just not important enough for me.
My husband has his own account here....there's no need for both of us to be charter members, that's just nuts.
Thanks for clearing that up....
Anyway....back to Robert's meeting....

Are you coming back? Tank has changed alot in the last year. :P
Hope to see everyone new & old.
Robert
BTW, Maast is going to be giving funds for the party favors. Anyone please give me some suggestions as to what to get. Snack trays, drinks, fruit trays, what kind & all that good stuff. This should be an awesome meeting with great raffle items. I know the Tint job that has been donated will help someone with all the heat we have been recieving. It is a great deal for someone valued at 299$ We are a Formula One Window Film dealer. So give me some suggestions. Drink preferences is what I really need.
Thanks
Robert

I had asked ~pete~ if it would be okay to post here and he said yes. He was also the one to add it to the top of the thread (after getting board approval). I have also posted this same message in the Retailer's forum.
I apologize if this has caused any hard feelings. I just wanted to make this special offer available to MAAST members first as a benefit of membership in the club before offering these items to the general public (who will not get the discount).
::pete::
Fri, 24th Jun 2005, 08:44 AM
It was decided to add it here because it gives the members not from Austin the information needed to allow more time if they are interested. Its also easier to read the one post than it is to read seperate post.

See what happens when you put a teasip engineer in charge of doing the math around here.
If you turn on your faucet and nothing comes out you will know who to blame. J/K Stevie. Luv ya man. :)

Can't make the meeting, we're having our "family" birthday party for my daughter and youngest son today with the in-laws :roll . (I didn't roll my eyes, I don't know what you're talking about? I swear, I wasn't rolling my eyes! I love seeing the in-laws, really!)
Anyway, I know it will be a great time at Robert's! I've seen his tank and fish room and it is a killer setup. Have fun everyone!

Thanks Robert for the use of your lovely home. That tank is awsome. I still need to get some pics so the wife can see it. It would help get me a bigger tank, :lol Good info Gary I will be checking my mag as soon as I find the test kit. Tunze looks good in the tank and definately has the flow I was looking for. Looking forward to the next meeting. If anyone believes the dues are to much they need to think again. Discounts alone are worth the fees. :)

Chuck,
Since you are so happy with the Tunze, I thinks it's best to reference you to a link on RC about the uses of Tunzes' in Bowfront tanks:

If you have trouble with this link, please be sure to read for mis-spelling in your address bar.

I did it as a joke. If you read the whole link, it has is it "give it to bigbird". then when I linked to it, it was a "real" post and then it was even funnier to me. I was just picking at Chuck because he got MY Tunze. **** the luck....!

Didn't Gary say yesterday that you could use baking soda to add Mg to your tank?

Epsom salt for Magnesium. Baking soda is bicarbonate.

Another great meeting. Was hoping for a better turnout of Austin folk though.
Robert, your tank is awesome. Very nice. Thanks for allowing us to use your place for our meeting. And Gary did a bang up job on the water chemistry lessons. All in all a great meeting. Really enjoyed meeting everyone.
Looking forward to our next meeting.

It was great having everyone over, being host was great again. The turnout by far was less than expected. Lots of stuff left over to eat & drink! I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. As I had a great time.
Cap, I am glad you & the gf had a great time. She seems very nice & would like to see your tank up & running soon. :P I would feel great if I were you. You did not drag her to something she just hated.:D :lol :lol To me, thats Cool!!!
What did Gary say! :lol :lol :lol :lol
