I found one of these critters in my temporary tank last night on my zoos.

I read my invert book on it but it did not have the info I was looking for. Do these snails need a partner to reproduce or are they capable of laying eggs on their own (I know some snails can do this)? I ask because after scouring the zoos I only found one.

Do the sundials only eat zoos or are they capable of surviving on majaonos and aiptasia? :skeezy

If they can't eat majanos or aiptasia then I have no use for it. I couldn't bring myself to kill it and put it in a jar (it may die there though who knows) with some of the tank water. If anybody needs help controlling their zoo population let me know soon if you want the snail.

I had one and it never left the zoo colony that it came in on. I finally pulled it off when I got a clean shot of it out and about one day. Mine was in the colony for months before I found out it was a bad thing but in all that time it never left that one rock. I guess it was happy just sitting there at it's own buffet. I guess I couldn't tell because the zoos were probably reproducing faster than it could eat them.

Yeah, I guess they can't be all that bad, especially if you only have one. My zoos stay open during the day and lately their color has become super green (green zoos) they are opening more, the stems are longer, and the head area is also larger. They are looking really nice (except for a few that are covered with cyano).

If they need a partner to reproduce I have no problem with just one in my tank. Maybe it will actually stimulate the zoos to grow, kind of like the enzymes in grasshopper's saliva make the plants they eat on grow faster.

I have only seen people WANTING sundials to help them control zoo populations in tanks. Makes me wonder if I should put it back in.
