Custom stands thats easy...send Pete a private message and he will take care of you, he does awesome work!!!

The only custom acylic tanks that are made here in Texas that I am aware of is the fish store that is in Corpus...I forgot the name of it but its easy they are the only saltwater fish store in Corpus.

I do have to say this though, I was looking around on e-bay today and I found some awesome acrylic tanks that are very high quality...shipping is free if you buy it now

I'm sure Dan (another MAAST member) could also make you a nice acrylic tank. He's in the completion stages of his own 300+G system. He does AWESOME work on custom sumps/refugiums too. ;)

BTW - Welcome to MAAST! :D

well...like I said Dan can make tanks but he usually does not, especially large ones. That is why he had his tank built by a arylic manufacturer.

Pete's username is ~pete~ and the store in Corpus is Tropical Fish Haven (361) 991-2424 they're a bit expensive but worth the price. They do excellent work.

The link that Don posted to 'acrylictnk's' tanks are really nice. I bought my 150 tall from him. Highly recommended. And if he doesn't list the tank you are looking for, just email him and he can probably make it for ya. He didn't have the one i wanted and i talked to him over the phone and he hooked me up, and the shipping was about 1/2 what he lists on eBay.

HTH........

Thanks for the info everyone! I will deffinately check with this guy. I'm really looking for a 180/200 gallon and the only place I knew of was a place located in Seattle (moved from there a couple of months ago) and the shipping was rediculous! They wanted something close to 500 bucks to ship a 180 out here me. Everyone here is really helpful!!!

the store here in corpus is really expensive. Over a thousand for a 180. Hate to say it too but I saw a tank returned that they custom made and were reselling, it was about to pop. All the seams had crazes in them and were detaching from the the seam. I'll be another fabricator in CC once I get my table saw in. I'll be making a 180, or a 150 L-shape here pretty soon.

Also check out www.tenecor.com they are industry standard for acrylic tanks and despite the price I have heard nothing but good things from people who have owned them.

Thanks everyone for the awesome links and info! I contacted the guy who makes the tanks on ebay and he is very decently priced and it will only cost about 100 bucks to ship the tank to me. I am very seriousl thinking of going with a custom tank that is 78long 28wide and 24high. Which comes out to something like 227 gallons. I am really excited about the prospects of this tank!!!

I know!! I would love a tank that size, but for now I think a 227 gallon will be an awesome tank since I have only kept nanos :) What size sump would be good for a 227 gallon?? Also I was thinking of putting 4-250 watt halides on the tank. Thoughts??

yeah...A 227 would be a great tank.

Sump size, I would put the bigest one that can fit inside your stand and still leave room for other equipment.

My advice to you is to wait until the tank and stand arrives and the have someone comeover and build a custom sump that will fit in the stand...that way you can utilize the space better. We happen to have a member here on Masst that makes awesome custom sumps. His username is Dan. He has built 2 sumps and 2 refugiums for me and they are top notch!!! On my 240g I acually cut a hole in the side of my oak stand so I could put my 64"x18X18 monster of a sump underneath!!!

We have just about every professional you can think of on this site...it rocks!!!

Oh and your lighting question...4x250 watts should do fine
