I was wondering how many intrests I would have in a pump that has a battery powerd back up. battery will run 10hrs, then when electric comes back on battery shuts off and recharges its self.
I dont know a price yet, till I see how many intrests I have- estimated guess probably about $75.00, but dont hold me to that.

Ok here it is.
Its called the rambo. Normally sells for $135.99 If we can get a few orders I can get them for $85.00 each then we all split shipping.
Spec's- 2-twin air line hook ups, is a high pressure pump, has high/low output setting, rechargable 10 hr battery, and car adapter.

You can get battery operated aerators at Wal-mart or Academy as well. There are some smaller ones that run off a 9 volt battery and are intended to be used in a bait bucket. There are some larger ones as well that are designed to use in a boats bait well and run off a car battery.
Of course they are not intended to run unattended like the ones you are referring to. The type that automatically turn themselves on when there is an outage would be ideal in a situation where no one is home for long periods of time.

Josh, I run air 24/7 to remove any surface scum that might show up, so for me its no big deal.

Josh, I dont have one yet, thats why I asked if anyone else wonted to go in with me. where I live our power goes out all the time and some times I am not home, But when the power goes out its out for 2-4 hours at a time, I also like that if I go collecting I can take it with me, and that its also a pressure pump.
I know for sure I am getting one.

I will let ya know tomorow. I will call and double check, but I belive it does. I belive it only kicks on when the power goes out unless you have the pump part already on, but let me double check.

Dan, Joshua is right. It depends a lot on your system but some fish can get into trouble in a low oxygen situation in 30 minutes. Other times it takes several hours. Any way you look at it, any period of time without circulation is asking for trouble.
Monica,
My old D-cell one runs for at least an entire day on D-cells. I'd really like to get a couple like that but have not seen one in a long time. It came from FosterSmith originally. It only costs 19.99 and I've not yet changed the batteries once. Had it for years. Its just like my bait bucket ones that will run for an entire day on D-cells except that it detects the power outage so it can be left in the tank for automatic coverage cause it doesn't run until the power goes out. Any chance you can find one like that?
In a second note I may also be interested in your automatically rechargeable one if you can verify that it only runs when the power is out. I'd like to have both kinds on hand.

Ok, just found out that the pump does run continuois, but you can have the bubbles very low or really high. that what the duel controller is for, high and low settings.
to me if you put a bubble stone on the end and shoved it in the back under a rock you shouldnt see that much bubbles with it being on the low setting.
I am still getting one- so if anyone wonts one let me know by thursday, thats when I am ordering.
