I had stopped by Aquatic Warehouse on Sat. and there was a sign saying they were closed for remodeling and would reopen on 5/17. I hadn't been by there in a long time. I was in that part of town today and being curious as to what was up, I decided to stop in.

Well, I found out that our very own Louis has bought Aquatic Warehouse. He is recognizing MAAST charter memberships and giving a 10% discount. As soon as we work out a few details he will also become a MAAST sponsor. We had a very good and wide ranging conversation and I was generally very impressed with his plans for the shop. He is planning on opening earlier in the day and expanding the shop's hours. I know that was an issue for a lot of you under the previous ownership. They are going to be offering a 20% discount on livestock along the lines of a bag day, but will not be holding livestock in bags as some other shops do. I would encourage everyone to stop in and at least say hello and let them know you are from MAAST.

I believe he has posted something about the change in ownership in the vendor forum. For those of you not familiar with Aquatic Warehouse he is located at:

Hey all

I have dealt with Louis on many occassions. I am sure that he does not know exactly who I am but I appreciate his help! He has talked and educted me on several trips there, even a few that didn't included a purchase. Thanks Louis!

I hope that the dwindling selection of corals was due to the change over in management. As far as I can remember (past six months) the corals were plentiful and in tip top shape. I look forward to future visits.

I was there on Tuesday and you can already start to see a few improvements. Hopefully he will open till atleast 9:00 since it's hard for people that get off at 6:00 to make it there by eight and catch dinner at the same time.

Hey everyone! Thanks again for all the support. I've been working real hard to address the issues that have hurt the shop in the past. One of the big things (and there are a few) that I'll be working on are the hours. A time change is in the works, I'm waiting for a few more things to fall into place and I'll be ready for you guys to come by earlier AND/OR later. I'm actually thinking that later would be a much better option for most of us, what do you guys think?

Thanks again to all of you for giving the shop a second chance. I look forward to hearing your suggestions.

Hello Louis.

First of all, congratulations.
Sounds like it may be time for Wendy and I to try the store again. We don't have a problem with Ivan and Tamer personally, but a few things took place on our last 2 visits that left a really bad impression. We haven't been back since.
We look forward to meeting you and checking out the store.
