Fish eye problem!!!!

My chalkbass which has been completely healthy for 6 months or so, is having a BAD problem. In all honesty, it looks like his eye is about to explode and I feel terrible for him. I'm going to assume that he's a goner and I would freeze him but he's hidden himself in a rock. Anyone else ever had this happen? Like I said, his right eye is bulging out of his head and looks like it's filled with a clear fluid.

I think the rule is... if its one eye, its water quality, if its both eyes is an infection...my clown got pop eye one day after i didnt do a water change for a while..after i did it, it went down...

How many times bigger is the effected eye than the normal eye? Usually if the fish seems okay and without much stress it will go away but if it has these then I think your supposed to kill it. :sick

Thanks much both of you, I'm going to keep watching him as my tank params are dead on and my sps aren't affected. It's only the one eye so it may just be that he bumped into something. I'll keep ya'll posted

We had a six-line wrasse that had the exact same thing one time. Eventually it just went down on it's own and went away and he was just fine after that. I figure he must have bumped into something or it was related to water quality.

Yeah I read that too but it scared the living s*** out of me. Imagine if when we bumped into something, our eye almost exploded!

Yeah I explained it all calmly now but when it happened to our wrasse we were freaking too. My wife was like, "Honey you need to come look at this! His eye is as big as his whole head! It looks like it's going to explode!"
