Hey all I would just like to introduce myself since I am new to these boards. I found these boards through a link from RC. I am happy to see that there is a more local group of reefers. I live in the central San Antonio area and I decided to register here since I see so many others from San Antonio.
I am new to the hobby with only about six months experience but I am interested in learning more!
Unfortunately, I am a college student and can not afford much. I decided to buy a 24 gallon Nano Cube because of its all in one design and the fact that it is fairly compact. Although I do not have much live stock in it, I enjoy watching what I have grow.
I am posting a few pictures of my tank for all to enjoy!
Thanks for any comments or questions you may have for me.

Welcome to MAAST Christopher, you are gonna like us :angel
You should try to make our next meeting on 5/22 at Fin-Addicts, lots of cool door prizes - you might win a frag for that nice Nano :)

I would like to go. I am not a "paying" member of MAAST, does that disqualify me from going?

You don't need to be a Charter Member to attend any meeting, but it is a great time to join ;)
Last years meeting at Fin-Addicts was a HUGE turn out, definately the "meeting to make" if you want to meet lots of MAASTards!
Come and join us & you are welcome to bring the significant other or friends! We always like the opportunity to convert a new "reefer" ;)

cbianco,
Welcome to MAAST. You might even meet a few folks that will take pity on a poor college student and give you a few frags.

I appreciate the support. Just to clarify to everyone I am not begging for frags. I am here to increase my knowledge of the marine aquaria.
Now of course if someone offered me a free frag I could not possibly hurt their feelings and say no. LOL.
Honestly, my girlfriend is sick :wacko of hearing about my tank and I just need someone to talk to. I am more than certain many of yall know what I am talking about! :lol

Welcome to the MAAST. My wife likes the cool stuff that we find in the aquariums so she tolerates my obsession, as long as I keep the cleaning stuff put up and the projects in the garage. When they start encrouching into the house, she let's me know pretty quick that she's not happy.

I didn't consider it begging. I, and a lot of other have corals that need to be fragged or thinned out on a regular basis to keep them from overgrowing a tank. I think half of MAAST curses me for giving them a Xenia frag at one time or another. I don't mind helping out someone getting started. Just remember me when you are ready to frag some of your stuff in the future. I'll just consider it an IOU to be paid back at some time in the future. Cool?

Exactly. Big reason the seahorses are finally arriving today. Not only is she all interested, it allowed me (err her) to get a new tank.
Anxiously awaiting the FedEX guy this morning.

Thunderkat,
Fin Addict is where we are having the next meet. Check the calendar and there is an attached thread that has the times, directions and so forth. It is also where any last minutes changes may be made.

Wife loves the Aquariums, just not the money spent on them.
P. S. She does not like the look of SPS Corals, only soft and LPS
Look for the TOMS RIBS sign Fin Addict is next door in the strip mall

Yeah, I saw the IMAX excursion but I found out about it a bit late. Sounds like fun. The last time I went to the IMAX at Rivercenter tickets were like 9.50 a piece. 11.50 is an absolute bargain for two movies! Wish I could make it. :(
