I'm interested in buying this cap (http://www.maast.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=11598) but I'm not sure its such a good idea...

I currently still have ammonia and nitrates in the trace range (tonights test actually showed 0 nitrate and trace amm, which I find odd) and I havent been able to get an RO/DI unit. It will take weeks for me to slowly change over to RO/DI anyway

I dont want to hold up the sale of this coral to others if its not a good idea for me now, but I dont know enough about them to make up my mind

thanks for any help

How long has your tank been set up? What kind of lights do you have? Do you have adequate flow in your tank?

Tanks is new to me only... it is well established
3 250w MH w/ 2 T5 actinic suppliments
I have moderate flow right now with the ability to direct flow toward any SPS with the 2 maxijet 1200's. I am waiting for a friend to sell me his pump so I can set up my long overdue closed loop. I have no idea when this will happen though.

My Gallery (http://www.paddletexas.com/cmgallery/thumbnails.php?album=12)

this is a very old shot by my tanks standards... about 2 months

If you are worried about the tap water you used, that should not affect it.

Jaded, Get it. I dont see any issues with your setup that would not support a cap. They grow like weeds in the yard. The RO/DI will help with other issues if you have them.

Good Luck
