Great idea. You're not looking for a birthday (http://www.maast.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=11571) gift, are you?

I agreee, great idea for those expensive items that could really help folks out.

Kind of like the unofficial MAAST cart, or has this now become the OFFICIAL Cart.

excellent Idea...maybe we could get some of these items for sponsorship or donations. That way we can save the Maast money for birthdays... :lol JK

That is a good idea, only problem I see is that some of this equipment is delicate and could be damaged, then who would foot the bill to get it repaired, it's not like we have the members CC number on file.

Just want to make sure all bases are covered.

Check it out like the library. Member is responsible while in their posession. If they don't want the responsibility, don't check it out.

One set would be best and rotate the location between Misti and Stephen, providing they want to do that.

MAke an appointment with the person who has controll of the unit and they could come to your place.

I wonder if one of the great LFS in SA or Austin would agree to hold and take care of them for us? I mean it would be great for them too...Who can go to a LFS and leave without buying something? I know that I cant.

Nice thought, but that would be an unfair burden on the person holding the unit for that month. I like the idea better of "checking out" the unit like a library book...whoever checked it out would be responsible for it's safe handling and transport.

Tim and Wendy,

I understand your points and good points at that!! But my thinking is that, this person would know exactly how to operate the piece of equipment, so therefore the person getting tested would understand what they have just tested for and the results of that test!
It might be a unfair burden, but then again, the one wanting to be tested could offer food and (the motivator) BEER!!

Wendy,

True, most of us are gadget freaks. But some of types of meters etc, could be a little tricky! Knowing exactly how to use them and interpret the test results, can be the trickest! Then what if they do not know how to interpret the results and then really screw things up!
Just my thoughts!

As keeper of the only "official" MAAST shared property ;) the burden of "borrowing" really isn't that bad ... but I haven't received any beer yet! :angry

Also, I have NO problem with the cart going to Austin (or elsewhere) if there is someone interested in storing it (and picking it up :P ). Actually, not having it in my garage every other months would be a "good" thing 8)

I don't consider the cart as personal property, it has been "Donated" to MAAST members, and I store it. :D

The easiest way to get the cart (and other equipment) back & forth betwen SA & Austin would probably be exchanging it at monthly meetings. But, we need to post location of equipment somewhere (MAAST calendar) so people know where it is for planning purposes.

If anyone in Austin wants to try this, I can bring it to the Fin-Addicts meeting on 5/22?
