I had a few request for an under the tank in the stand beckett so here it is ... overall height 29" ;) Box is 8"x11"x5" due to plumbing and should handle up to a 180. I might even switch and sell my dual :D .

Pete,

This looks exactly like what I need for my frag tank that I had discussed earlier with you. LMK if you have any more. Feel free to call me on my cell to discuss further or let me know when it would be a good time to call you.

Thanks,
Frederick

Pete, when you get a chance, can you please pm me with the same info you gave Leslie? I am going to have to face the fact that something external is going to have to be placed on this DAS tank I have, just not exactly sure how to do it.

Thanks,
Jenn

looks really good, and at his prices i would rather support pete than any online vendor. beats paying $20,000 to R2K.

Well, I am getting one of those skimmers. If things go as planned, Abe and I will be down there to pick them up some time Saturday. My skimmer will be powered by a Mag 21. My guess is that it will move about 1800 gph, and will be going on a 110 gal tank.

I picked up my skimmer this afternoon. Pete, Thank you for being so patient and infomative. I stopped at an lfs on my way home to get a pump, with the intentions of geting started in the morning. The people at the lfs told me that I had to use a non submersible pump and that I had to have a Turbo-sea. Well first of all it is only 790gph and I need at least 800, second it cost more than the skimmer! They also said I was going to have to drill holes in my sum, yada, yada, yada. Is this right? I left there more confused than ever. Please help/advise on what I need.

You purchased an external pump? Is you fuge/sump acrylic or glass?

Hey ... I can charge you more for the skimmmer and them the pump will be cheaper :)

If your skimmer will be "in" your sump, then a submersible pump is the right way to go. If the skimmer will be outside the sump, you can go with either a submersible or external pump. The external pumps are (in general) better quality pumps, but this will require drilling your sump (That's why Pete asked if it is glass or acrylic) and installing a bulkhead for the inlet to the pump.

I don't have experience with the turbo-sea pump, but they look identical to the PanWorld pumps, which are top of the line external pumps. Personally, I would order a PanWorld from an on-line vendor if you are going to spend that much. If you can/should use a submersible pump, a MAG12 or better would likely be a good choice.

I am sure others will make suggestions. I haven't used a beckett skimmer, so my suggestions are not based on first hand experience.

here is an update(3 hours into this). My husband recomended and insump pump, and since he is putting it all together I happily complied :D . Trying to explain everything to him is like him explaining to me how my make-up should be applied :roll . anyway we purchased a beckett pump (1170 gph), and all the fixings to put it together, well kinda, after my husband started looking at it he realized that we had water going into the skimmer but not out, so he is on his way back to home depot to get some more parts. I will let you know how it goes when we finish. projects, sure do test your patience for eachother don't they

theres nothing wrong with an in sump pump, its just likely to add heat and a few other things, but nothing worth getting upset with one another... this hobby is great way to learn patience (or a sure way to get divorced :D)

everything is done <_< and we are still speaking :) . My husband added a valve (from the pump to the skimmer), and it was a good thing since the pump is putting out so much force that the out put from the skimmer could not keep up with the input. The valve is barely open. I want to thank everybody for the help and advice. A special thanks to Pete for taking the time to talk to my husband when he didn't understand what I was saying. I will let everybody know how things are going in a week or two when it starts producing waste.

Well, Abe and myself picked up our skimmers today. You would not believe the craftsmanship that went into these things. I expected to have to purchace a few other items for the skimmer, and do some fine tuning, but that was not necessary. Everything you see in his shots comes with the skimmer. (unlike some name brands such as PM)

I expected the main tube to just be glued to the top of the base stand. That was not the case either. He took the extra time to half cut the base so that the main tube would have a bottom and side glue surface when placed into its fitted notches.

When we drove up, he was buff polishing the systems for a clean shiny look. We were very happy with our excellent deal, at our great price. Much below the market price for name brand competition, and the quality was as good, if not better than the big names.

He took the time to explain everything to us, and told us to call if we ran into kinks with the setup. I have not seen that on the open marked for other skimmers ever.

BTW, the in wall setup is looking AWESOME. Keep up the good work Pete, and thanks for being a new found friend!!!

Just wanted to give an update. Everything is working great. The skimmer started producing foam 3 days after we got it hooked up. We have done a little valve adujusting but that's it. I wanted to thank everyone again for all their input and help, especially Pete.
Thanks, Leslie
