That sucks, it seems like Toy is not interested at all in customer service or in quality. I've heard of many issues with Toy's tanks and have personally experienced their poor workmanship.
Only thing you can do at this point is if you paid the drilling with a credit card you can do a chargeback.

I've never had a good experience with Forever pets, nothing really bad, just a general feeling like I wasn't welcome and they had better things to do than answer my questions.
But if you need a goldfish or beta they are the place

no, i was stupid and paid cash. Live and learn I suppose. I didnt expect a free tank, I would have been happy with a discount of some sort. Jeez, they charge $20 per hole, and i got 2 drilled.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience there Alex. It's a shame they do business like that and fail to give their customers better treatment. While it is hard to guarantee there will be no problems when you drill a glass tank, a company that offers the service should at least credit you the drilling fees and try to help out on a new tank if possible.

My 150 72x18x32 has cracked twice, the second time just happend a week ago. First time I lost all but 6" of water and Toy happily let me break down my tank and take it to him to have it fixed. Second time center brace snapped..front and back bowed out 1" so I drained it half way to releive pressure. Toy again is happily letting me break down my tank for a repair at his shop....well not this time, Felipe has been coming by all this past week each day gluing in new piece better and stronger than before should be finished in a couple days. I will happily be handing the bill to Toy for re-embersmant.

Forever pet sucks, every time ive been there,I have to spend over 10 minutes looking for someone who works there..their prices are stupid ($60 dollars for a starved fox face) and their tanks are as bad as their customer service..Sorry to hear that Alex..you should talk to Tamer at Aquatic Warehouse..they do a really good job drilling tanks, they drilled my 90 gallon and couldnt be happier..

Sorry to hear that. I know I had my 180 drilled there and the person who did the job did a great job. Perfectly clean holes (4 of them) and not a chip on any of them. I wonder if they have new people working there now, still no excuse for the owners attitude though.

Why are people like this? They shoot themselves in the foot. This type of stuff really hurts your business. I know a couple of LFS fish store owners that would probably refund the money and pay for the damages just so people wont talk bad about them. Actually, if this was me I would spin it around and help the customer so he could post about a good experience. The publicity some stores get here is amazing and a good or bad post could really make a difference in people going to their shop. I havent been to this place and I never will. I am a business major and I dont support people who dont believe in customer service. As far as maast people giving publicity and making a store marketable, Fin-Addict this is for you. Felipe you have superb customer service and I will continue going to your store and spending tons of cash. Thanks a lot.

The purpose of this forum is to report both bad and good experiences with various businesses involved in this hobby. I'm not going to get involved with this discussion, or interject my personal opinions, but I will say that if you do a search you will find several similar threads concerning this business and its other DBA. This is not an isolated incident.

I question someone only having 3 posts and coming in here complaining about how stores are treated. Apparently that person either works for that store or they don't take the time to read the rest of the outstanding reviews of numerous other LFS around central and south Texas. While a few comments here have become more opnionated rather than factual, this forum is for discussing the good AND bad experiences with products, online vendors, and LFS. This tread was not started to "flame" anyone, just relay a negative experience to the rest of the club members so they can use that info to make future decisions.
Personally, I have never dealt with Toy, but I have shopped at the Forever Pets on Nacogdoches many times. While the lady that runs the place may not be the greatest people person, I do not fault the store for that and continue to stop by from time to time as I have not had any negative experiences with that store. I actually purchased a puppy there for my ex a few years ago. When we got it he had kennel cough, but they provided medicine and visits to their vet until he got over it. We were also told that if anything happened to him, they would find us a new puppy. Seemed like good service to me. Even so, with hearing about everyone elses experiences with this company, I know I would not take a tank there to get drilled or resealed, not because every purchase has problems, but because of the poor service or lack there of given to those who have had problems.

YEAH, let's be real. Look at their history. I've personally experienced their poor workmanship first hand when they built an overlfow for me it looked like it was bent with some pliers and had teeth marks in the center of the overflow and when I told them about it they said "We have to bend them and that's how they get" which is a bunch of BS, you can make overflows without damaging them while being bent. Fact of the matter is they messed up when bending it and they did not want to have to eat the cost of their mistake.
Even more, alot of the LFS in SA don't even want to deal with them anymore due to the exact same reasons posted on this board.

alexwolf
Sun, 1st May 2005, 12:27 PM
heh. Let me see. I had 24 tanks drilled 2 holes each. Most were drilled by glasscages. Stupid mistake by us broke one tank, then I bought a brand new one from Forever Pets. The charged me full retail for the tank, and $20 a hole to drill. I personally dont care if they guarantee it, but sometimes you need to at least be nice to angry customers. Toy was just plain rude when I called.

FOREVER PETS=NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!My husband and I have been doing business with Forver Pets for a little over 7 years now. I have not had a single problem with their service or live stock. I do not think it is fair to attack the stores that sell Aqua Trend tanks, but rather the company that manufactures them. I have not bought an Aqua Trend aquarium and will not be any time soon according to my readings, but I must say the service at Forever Pets I cannot complain about.

I'm not going to get involved here, but just to clarify:
Toy and his wife (the chineses lady) own both Forever Pets locations (Nacogdoches and Basse) and Aquatrends. Aquatrends' shop is located behind the Forever Pets location on Basse Rd. To be totally fair, I have never heard anyone complain about Forever Pets. The complaints on here have been about the tanks from Aquatrends.

I always like it when someone who has never posted on this site before suddenly comes to the rescue when there is a complaint about a vendor. Makes me a little suspicious that they are involved somehow with them <_<
Sweetchic - you need to reread this thread. There is no bashing of Forever Pets, but rather some serious issues discussed about the owner of the pet store and the tank manufacturing company that are really one in the same. So serious of issues that people are looking at filing lawsuits against them. Negative experiences like these are good to share so others can learn and take into account when making future purchases. Having a tank break because of poor manufacturing and then getting no customer service afterwards is a bad deal. A very expensive deal too when you have a big tank blow out, water goes everywhere, ruining flooring, walls, killing livestock, and losing all the money and hard work people put into their tanks. People here have a right to openly and fairly post their complaints. Afterall, those complaints were initially taken to the company involved, they had the opportunity to at least try to make things right, but they refused.
Again, no real complaints against the pet store, just the person that owns it and the tank company. I've spent plenty of money in their store by my house and don't have a problem with them, but after hearing all the things on their tanks, I would never, never buy one from them. Just my two cents! ;)

I dont know, the service at the San Pedro/Basse store pretty much sucks, never been to the other location. Like i said before, Krystynn and I were standing 30 minutes waiting for some guy who knows crap about anything to approach us (after asking for help numerous times). The store is very neat and tidy and their fish room is cool. Sadly, they have the most expensive fish in the world..LMAO,Ill never forget the $60 dollar starved foxface.. Its not bashing, its constructive critisism..LOL..NEVER GOING BACK.

Like I said earlier in the thread myself. They drilled 4 holes in my 180 (which is one of their tanks) and they came out great and very clean. Nobody I've found will guarantee drilling (if you know one let me know) but I guess the complaint has been with the attitude of the response.

never had a tank drilled there, but i have checked out their respective stores. i saw nothing but overpriced and starved fish. the lady watchin the tube was especially angering. walked around for 30 minutes with not one 'is there something i can help you find?'. having worked at a petstore before, this is NOT how you conduct business.
ill wager sweetchic is toy, or some other store employee/family member. if toy posts here, have them check his ip vs sweetchic's ip. if they match, have fun :)

Please know what you are talking about before coming on here and posting what 70% of these people already know is not true.
As stated, Forever Pets and Aquatrend are the same company. Aquatrend is the tank making side and Forever Pets deals in the pets side of the business. They make the tanks and drill them in the back of the store on Basse Road.
Once again, I myself have nothing bad to say about them. They did a great job on my tank. But putting up bad information to confuse the issue with the other 30% of the people on this site does no good for anybody.
