You could try changing out your old GFCI to a higher quality 20 amp GFCI, they run about $45 at your local electrical supply company. Depending on the brand the GFCI will trip on an imbalance of load of only 4 to 6 Milli-amps. Since Giesemen has transformers to change voltages, the GFCI is picking up an unbalanced load and tripping. Your lights with a power factor of .9 are probably drawing only 4.6 amps.

Nice use of Space....
Question: The fan that is mounted on the left side wall, is it sucking air from the sump room to the house to help with humidity and heat?

They make a electrical contact cleaner that might help, maybe try petroleum jelly on the contacts and then clean that off with vinegar? (4 to 6 MA) When something like a fan runs on 120 volts, and let say it draws 2 amps of electricity, the neutral or grounded conductor back to the panel must return 2 amps. If it drops down to 1.094 amps the GFCI will trip. Maybe try it on more than one GFCI around your home and see if it trips?

Your pendant isn't the first I have heard of falling into water. If it happened once it might happen again. Think about dropping a hair dryer into a bath tub full of water with no GFCI protection, not a pretty picture. Have you plugged in the ballast and transfomer without the light connected. Aquatek might be able to answer more of your questions, I have had great service with them on my bosses Giesemann light.

Eddie at Alamo had a insulated terminal between the ballast housing and pendant that you could unscrew. I thought they all had this I guess not? Have you checked with Aquatek? And although I have never taken one apart, I thought all Giesemann lights where electronic ballast with a transformer inside to change 120 volts to european voltage? Thats the way my bosses was constructed.
