Mine has started nipping/eating my PomPom and my pink zooanthids any ideas or similar complaints? I hate to get rid of it but don't want it killing my other stuff.

How do I catch it? Anyone have any sure fire ways to catch a fish in a large hooded tank with very little wiggle room? It is still eating the xenia (no biggy) but picks at everything including the clam so the wife wants it gone.
Ideas?

That's unusual, but not unheard of. While the larger angels are usually not reef friendly as they nibble on corals and sponges, most pygmy angels are considered reef safe. Of course as with most species of fish, you never know what a certain individual will do. I think the Coral Beauties and the Flame Angels are known to pick at things from time to time. You could probably buy 100 Coral Beauties and maybe only have 1 do that or you might have more, just never know for sure. I have had an African Flameback Angel, another one of the pygmy group, for awhile and I have caught it nipping at one of my clams in the past. Doesn't seem to eat at it, just peck it.

Has it been eating well when you feed it? You may try feeding it a variety of things and hopefully it's tastes buds will be satisfied from that instead of trying out your other livestock.

Eats like a pig anything and everything, fat and happy. Can't see (haven't) any visual damage on the zoo but the pom is missing 50% of it fingers, spends most of the day closed up and is looking pale so I am thinking it is not happy about being eaten.
Figured I would take it to the store, it was $24 new so they will give me $12.5 for it. Unless you live close won't be worth the drive for you unless you want a fat, healthy, not gonna die when you get it home fish :D . You can have it for $12.5 if you want it let me know or I am taking it in.

What is Reef Safe? I once sold a P. Tang to Alan at TT and he put it in Sean's reef tank and darn if he didn't eat $200 worth of coral before they could get him out. They ended up putting him in his eel tank. I never did hear what happened to him after that?
