Introducing "The Beast" protien skimmer by "Off the Reef".

The main column is 32 inches high and the overall height is 50.5 inches. This is on a tank that has a capacity of 1200 gallons. Right now I am running it at just 500 gallons.

I am running the skimmer wet using a pump I purchased from Alex Wolf. Once I rewired the garage (pump kept tripping the breaker), the pump has run flawlessly.

Enjoy the pictures.

From what I remember, the price of the skimmer cost probably ain't nothin compared to the mileage charge for delivery to your place ;)

That's just the first bucket. I have already emptied it once and have that much again. Of course I am curing over a 1000 pounds of live rock at the moment and will be adding another ton in the next couple of weeks.

Steve,

Actually, I picked it up at the meeting at Alex's house, so there wasn't a delivery charge. :D

Brett,

No this LR is not going in my 135. It already has over 300 pounds of LR in in now.
I am a wholesale/distributer for cured live rock. Feel free to PM me for further details.

Cool, so when can we get together to talk about the new skimmer for the 150 gallon frag tank? You wouldn't happen to be coming up this way this weekend, would you? ;)

I notice that it looks as though you have a rigged-up sump for the rock. If your interested, I have a 300g round fiberglass tank that I could take a pic of and maybe we could do some trading. It also has a lid. We used it when my dad had his hip surgery for a whirlpool. No chemicals used in the tank.

I will post pictures of the tank and wave maker later this weekend. My pictures are on my computer at home and I am at work now.

The main tank is 12 feet long, 4 feet wide and 4 feet deep that I built myself (with my wife's help). I have it about 1/3 full of water at the moment. I also have a kalc reactor from JimD that I will be plumbing into this system. I also have a 300 gallon stock tank I am using to hold LR that is committed to customers. I have three 55 gallon stock tanks I use in the cleaning process of the raw LR. I have a 150 gallon coral frag grown-out tank plus a seperate sump (from Joshua) and a seperate fuge that I will be working on getting plumbed together this weekend. I also have a 30 gallon and 18 gallon aquariums that I have not decided what I will use them for yet.

I am also rebuilding my pond's waterfall this weekend and will post pictures of it as well when it is done.

I am planning on hosting a meeting at my home sometime this summer so everyone will get a chance to see the facilities and the different systems I am running.
