Well I havent seen my 6 line in days, I'm hoping that he's just hiding out but that hasn't been his MO in the past :( One way or the other he wasnt keeping the pyramid snails population in check anyway. I spent about 2 hours pulling these little S--ts off my snails this afternoon, but that leaves about 50 snails that are still playing host I'm sure

I've read that 6line wrasse's and scooter blenny's will eat these things, is there any other alternative? I sure would like to have clams one day

According to Anthony Calfo, any of the wrasses of genus Pseudocheilinus, that includes the six line and eight line, will eat pyramid snails. I think there is eight members of that genus. Try doing a google search.

Regular manual removal is your safest bet IMO. If you have clams, better check them quick like....

I seem to recall something about dottybacks eating them too.

I know my old royal gramma would eat all of the tiny baby snails it could find, specifically the ones the size of your pyramids there. It would pick them out when they were out in the open.

Yellow coris wrassethis guy is beautiful, I really like the Gaimard’s (yellow tail) Wrasse as well... or I should say more. Do they react well together, or is it better to have just one?

manual removal was pretty effective. I wiped out a ton of them today. I dont have any clams right now, but I would like to in the future

wrasses of genus Pseudocheilinus
Basically the lines wrasse family... I'm hoping to see my 6line any old time now, I really hope hes ok, hes fat and healthy and eats anything he can get his mouth near. Maybe when he reappears he will do a better job since I've removed so many of these pyramid snail for him.

I also read a thread of many people having extreme luck with the scooter blenny, but I havent heard anyone here mention them so I'm not sure. I like the blenny family, so I might pick one up even if they dont eat these

I've heard a few bad things about royal grammas, or at least I think I have. Do they get mean, or pick at some corals?

Hmmm maybe the yellow tail (Gaimard's) isnt such a good idea... saltaquarium.about.com says they will eat coral polyps, mark that favorite fish off the list

I would know if mine was mean or not, the only other fish I had was a bangaii cardinal. The gramma didnt nip at any of my polyps that I saw and i would think it would have been noticable... That's not to say they don't do that, I just didnt experience it myself. I had a mixture of most different types of corals at the time. (at least the ones we see in the hobby)
