Soft Coral Suggestion

I was thinking about putting some soft corals in my aquarium after I remove the fish (keeping the cleaner wrasse).

I have 2 actinic lights and two 10ks in my hood. I ordered a Tunze 6060 so will have that soon in my 50 gallon tank.

What would everybody recommend for a person that has not ever had a corals?

I heard mushrooms are easier than zoos and that some eat bacteria, which ones?

many softies are even easy enough for me to keep... zoos and shrooms are great places to start and look very nice. Xenia is fun to watch and grow quickly, some might even say to quickly but I've never had any problem with that. Yellow Polyps are fun as you can feed them directly. Most softies like medium light and low to medium flow, but they are also pretty forgiving in both areas. I have a rock with yellow polyps and green shrooms... I placed the rock high in the tank for the yellow polyps and the shrooms changed color completely. I've come to understand that they "grew" a sunscreen.

"grew a sunscreen" is a technical term... please dont try this at home:)

Leathers are pretty adaptable and easy to keep.

green star polys- they grow like crazy and are pretty hardy to keep. xenia are hardy too but personally, i think it grows too much. i'm not sure where your'e at but i've got plenty of it if you want to have some

I can't think of mmany soft corals that aren't fairly easy to care for, with the exception of carnation corals. Some even do well in low light conditions. Just do your research, develop a plan based on the research, and follow the plan.
