Help! Ick? Fungus?

I know the pic is crappy, but he won't stay still.

Recent Events - 15 gal water change yesterday, and I rinsed out the crap from the bottom of the sump.

Added two new fish thursday night, sixline wrasse & sand sifting goby. Both show no signs of disease or stess as they are small and stay out of the way.

In addition, there is no conflict between any fish, other than an occasional reminder from the yellow tang to the scopas tang of who the boss is.

Thanks

Check your water temp. This time of year water temp. is often an issue and creates enough stress to set off a case of Ich in a lot of tengs. The high humidity in the house is enough to slow down evaporation and cooling of the aquarium.

If this is the problem, and I am just taking a stab at it, then solution is extra cooling (fans or ice in the sump), feeding your tang as much as he will eat, and maybe adding garlic to his diet. I noticed my tanks are running cooler today, probably because the humidity has dropped, so if there was a temp spike earlier this week you may not have noticed it. I had to turn on my emergency fans I use when this is an issue. I over designed the cooling fans in my tank for this purpose. The only time I have a problem is in the spring and fall when the windows are open and its a bit muggy like it was earlier this week.

I can say with total confidence that GaryP is correct... of course it may not be your problem but its the first place I'd look

Looks like ick from what I can see (the pic is fuzzy).
I don't remember what size tank you have, but if it's 75G or above, a 15G water change shouldn't be enough to stress the fish. On occasion, our Hippo will get a few ick spots when we change water, but it's generally gone the next day. Could definitely be water temp. As far as the other inhabitants, how long have the Scopas and the Yellow Tang been tankmates? There could be some stress there, even if you don't see it for yourself (unless of course you are home all day, and keep an eye on the tank away from where the fish can see you). Also, did you check all your water params? Even a small swing can cause a tang to break out...they are very good indicators of water problems.

I think salinity was a little low, so I used the water change to bring it up a tad. .021 to .023 over the course of 3 hours.

Was that too fast? I am using kick-ich right now. No noticable results yet.

The yellow & scopas have been together for almost a year.

Three hours was probably OK.

Been dosing kick-ich the last week, and introduced an all you can eat Nori buffet for the fish.

Scopas is completely clean now, and once I started doing this, the spots mostly cleared up in two or three days.

Take it easy with adding fish..If you add as many fish at once, your water chemestry is constantly changing, patience...
