Cangrats Steve!!! Well desreved i have to say. I went saw this awesome setup lastweek when i went over to Steve's to get some MH bulbs that i had purchased from him. The pictures do this system no justice. It IS a must see, but i would have to say that seeing it in person blew me away.

WOw, when I build my house I will definately have an inside the wall reef display. I probably can't afford one of like Steve's but I will try my best to clone it.

Don't let Steve fool you. I've been trying to get him to build me a pond for 25 years & I figured if I gave him my dining room for his fish, he'd feel obligated to build my pond. Well ya'll know all the time & expense he put into his aquariums,I finally got my pond! Guess how long it took to build (ONE WEEKEND), don't ya'll think he owes me ? Just kidding we really have gotten a lot of enjoyment from the aquariums (except when he's working on something then there's a lot of cussing going on. I just wish he wasn't colorblind. Congrats honey, you Pete & Dan deserve it !!!

What a great tank!! The next time Steve sells something Im going to buy it , whether or not we need it so we can just go over and see the tanks!!
Steve you should have entered each tank seperately and then you could have held a 3month monopoly on TOTM.
Great job!

Shhhh, don't give away my strategy! Now I will submit each one seperately and try for four in a row ... I need the frags ;)

Guess how long it took to build (ONE WEEKEND)
Actually, it took 25 years + one weekend ... 25 years of careful planning, and one weekend to execute ;)
Note: The "Saltwater Pond" suggestion was REJECTED :(

Congratulations Steve!!! That is such an awesome set up, and I'm sure you, Pete, and Dan put a lot of effort into the planning and building of your "Dream" aquarium room...it certainly shows!!! So when are you hosting a MAAST meeting so we can all drool over your set up in person?

Ok, for my TOTM reward I gave myself the rest of the day off at 4:00 :roll
Thank you all for your great comments. I want to reiterate that this project was only possible due to MAAST! I never would have been successful with this project if I didn't have a way to tap the vast experience and skills available through all of the MAAST members! We all take this wonderful resource for granted, it is right at our fingertips (literally) 24 hours a day, and free of charge ... so cough it up $$$!
Obviously, above all else, my gratitude to my wonderful wife for recommending the idea, not thinking I was crazy, and living with my obsession!
As far a s a MAAST meeting at my place goes - it has been offered, so you will just need to petition the BOD if you want to see it in person :skeezy
Final note: It is amazing how much tinkering I do with this thing. Re-reading the article, I have changed so much since I submitted the article. Most of all my "Corner Clam Tank" ... I'll post some pics of it in a day or two!

Steve,
Do we really have to wait for a formal meeting to view the tank in person??? How about hosting a TOTM potluck banquet - or even better - happy hour?

... or even better - happy hour?
Hum, lets see ... A house full of reefers, drunk as skunks, drooling all over my glass, at least one wants to move in, and the evening ends with a fat dog carrying contest and spiking Karen's new pond with a 200g bucket of Oceanic :unsure
Yea sure, sounds like a ball :)
