I need a heater for my 150G. Can anyone recommend a heater for this volume? I think i have the high temp under control, but now i need to control the low end.

Thanks

Hey Tim,

I checked around and it looks like Ebo Jager heaters only go up to 250 watts. Is that 350 watt a typo or do ou know someplace that makes them this big?

i tell you what, i just got some Stealth heaters, and they are really nice. they are all black, no glass anywhere so you cant break them. I cant remember who made them off the top of my head, might be Marineland. I am using 7 of their 150w at the store, very nice heaters.

Where can i pick these heaters up? And how much $$ are we looking at here?
Alex, those are made by Visi-Therm. Petsmart carries them, online at least.

And is there a certain watts/gallon recommended? That was my main reason for starting this thread.

Thanks

After doing further research this morning, I have read recommenedations of 2 to 5 watts per gallon and that you want to stay on the conservative side. The heater will be on less time to heat the water and should therefore cost less to operate.

You could also go with a 500watt Pro Heat titanium heater. They are about $50 online.
